'The History of Oak Knoll Park' - Jim Sherby will discuss the early history of the beautifully preserved land, and the Rice and Goldman families who developed the property with two large homes that continue to serve the community as the Clayton Childcare Center and the St. Louis Artists’ Guild. An examination of ghost stories associated with the property will be presented! Jim Sherby is the author of From New Madrid to Claverach, How an Earthquake Spawned a St. Louis Suburb.
Storytime at the Hanley House

Bring your children to the Historic Hanley House on Thursday mornings for a special story time. An historic interpreter will share stories both new and old. Children will also delight in learning an historic craft and the final story time will feature a special tea party for children.

Hanley House Herb Tour

Historic Hanley House
Join us for this special tour of the Historic Hanley House and learn about the importance of herbs and other plant life in the 19th century home. Costumed interpreters will lead this tour. Bring your gardening shears and you will be invited to take clippings from the Hanley House Herb Garden.

Hanley House Dig for Boy Scouts
Saturday, July 30
10:00 am to 3:00 pm
Location - Hanley Park
This program is designed to fulfill the requirements for an Archaeology Merit Badge. Scouts will learn the history of the Hanley family using the basic principles of archaeology. All participants should be clothed properly including sturdy tennis shoes/boots, old pants and shirts. Sunscreen and a water bottle are also advised. We will break for lunch in Hanley Park. Scouts should bring a sack lunch. Pre-registration is required. Please call Sarah Umlauf to register: 314-226-9893. Cost is $10 per Scout.
