Crime Alert from Judy Kekich, Clayton Communications Coordinator

The Clayton Police Department has issued the following statement and ask that you forward it to your neighbors. It would be helpful to encourage them to forward it to their Clayton neighbors. Thank you for your help in protecting our community.
The Clayton Police Department reports a recent increase in car break-ins throughout the Clayton community. These break-ins are also occurring throughout the St Louis area and particularly in our neighboring communities. Clayton citizens are reminded to always lock vehicles and remove valuables. Leaving items like GPS units and cell phone in plain sight makes your vehicle a prime target. If possible, park your vehicle in your driveway or garage, since thieves generally target vehicles parked on the street. You can help discourage these incidents in our community by reporting any suspicious activity in your neighborhood – please call the Clayton Police at 645-3000.
